Henry Public

I just have to gush over the new bar in my neighborhood. I recently moved to Brooklyn Heights where there isn't too much of a bar scene so I was delighted when Henry Public opened a few weeks ago. Turns out a friend of a friend knows the owners (who also own Brooklyn Social in Carroll Gardens) and they are involved with theater which I think translates into the space - very theatrical, like a set. Apparently the place used to be an old TV Repair store but they've completely redone it and included so many lovely details. My Halloween Costume!

This year I'm going to be Little Edie from Grey Gardens. I can't figure out how to embed a video link just yet but here is a great clip of the scene with the costume: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xG5baCxTtgw

Budding Photographer

My younger sister Cole is a senior in high school in Savannah, GA and is taking her first photography class. Her prints are gorgeous and I have to brag on her. I love reminiscing about my first photo classes and just the magic of watching a piece of photo paper turn into a velvety print.

Eco Dorm at Warren Wilson

I looked at Warren Wilson back when I was a senior in high school. The community lifestyle really appealed to me but I ended up going to a more traditional academic school that I loved. However, I'll always have a warm spot in my heart for ole Warren Wilson. My new guilty pleasure - the New York Times Home & Garden Section recently featured the new eco-dorm. As always from the Times, the photographs are gorgeous. They truly capture a sense of joy & peace.

hello world

oh hi there. so yeah, i discovered the whole blog world this summer and love
the daily inspiration i receive. its really helped me see the beautiful in the everyday.
i've had the idea for some time to start one of my own. when i first had the idea
for a blog, it was to collaborate with a friend and have less of voice and more provide interesting sites and artists.. well that never blossomed into anything so now i
want to try again, on my own, my story though photographs, design, recipes, wants,
and inspiration. really this is more or less an online record for myself, but i'd love to
share - the more the merrier!

all the best,
macon
