Dream Curtains

Dear Santa, all I want for Christmas (besides a trip to Paris) are these curtains. Love, Macon

And if your little elves aren't able to make them in time, you can pick some up at Anthropologie.

Bonnaroo in the Snow!

So this isn't cute or design or NYC related in the least,
but I'm a HUGE fan of the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival
held in Manchester, TN every June. I went to the very first
one in 2002 and have gone to most since then - missing a year here
and there. Its always so sweltering hot & dusty - so crazy
to see it all under a blanket of cold rain & snow:

New York Times Cookies

I want to make these! Lots of great cookie recipes at The New York Times - who knew?

Design Resource

Ah! You know when you stumble across something great and are like, wow, this is so great,
I'm so glad I found it, I will remember forever. And then you totally forget where you found it and
you scour the internet for days and ask all your blog-savvy friends and no one knows what
you are talking about? Yep - that happened to me. I saw Rob Giampietro's post of Vendors on
Design Work Life blog and was like, score, jackpot! And then totally forgot where I saw it.
This morning they have a post "Quicklinks" and I had a feeling I was onto something, did a bit
of investigating and found it. And now I'm reposting it so I will have it at my internet fingertips
forever. Here's a sneak peak screen grab:

Sad News, Sally Shapiro, & Nicolette's home

Kinda bummed out this morning, my mom & sister were planning on driving up
from Savannah to help me sew some pillows & curtains for my new apt, go
flea market shopping, etc - just have a lovely girls weekend together in Brooklyn. However,
the weatherman thought this particular weekend would be best to dump a ton of snow
on the whole east coast.

Yes that's, right, 12+ inches of snow in the next 48 hours right in their path...
Sadly they won't be making it and a trip after Christmas is in the works.

Meanwhile, I'm enjoying a quiet Saturday, listening to Sally Shapiro,
He Keeps Me Alive - such a nice song. I plugged in Au Revoir Simone into my Pandora
this summer and have since discovered lots of great new tunes.

Perusing through old design*sponge "sneak peaks" lately and came across my friend,
Nicolette's lovely home. I adore her use of found, vintage furniture and how she
puts them together in such a seemingly effortless way. So beautiful, and such an inspiration
to me. Love love love all the plants & flowers around the house.

A perfect Sunday

While yesterday was the rainiest its been since this summer,
it turned out to be such a lovely day. A college friend was in town so we had brunch
at Ulysses in the financial District.

Worked on some design things and then later had dinner with a friend at
Roebling Tea Room - one of my favorite restaurants in the city.

Then went for drinks at Hotel Delmano - I've never been but it was
the most delightful place I've been in ages. Had one too many St. Germain cocktails
relishing in the beautiful atmosphere.

Dinner with old friends

Delicious meal my dad made for me and a few of my oldest, dearest girlfriends when I was home over Thanksgiving.
Pork tenderloin wrapped in a puff pastry with dijon mustard. Mushrooms & wild rice, and sautéed zucchini with
toasted almonds. Also the first time I've ever used my own silver. As much as I like to think of myself as a New Yorker
these days, I'm still a southern lady at heart.

New Chair!

Picking up this little beauty this weekend. Craigslist is the bomb!

New Years Ensemble Inspiration

So as of now my new years eve plans are either: A) a formal/vintage classy gown event at an
old country club in Park Slope, or B) a jam-band frat/hippie Widespread Panic concert in Atlanta.
Not sure how this outfit will work for either of those events but I will find a way!

The Selby

Holy Moly!! After a crazy crazy week at work, I came straight home this freezing
Friday evening to make dinner & curl up in bed to catch up on my blogs.
I stumbled upon the blog to end all blogs: the selby Call the car, its over for the rest
of us. I can't get over how amazing their site & projects are. As described
on the site: "the selby features photographs, paintings and videos by todd selby of
interesting people and their creative spaces" Take a peek for yourself.
